Setting up a new catalog isn’t necessarily a difficult task, but it does require some work. Follow these steps to be sure you’ve at least setup a new catalog correctly.
1. Create A New Catalog

Click Menu then Catalogs.
Click Create.
Enter the Name for the Catalog and if active.
You can still edit a Catalog and Manage it even if not Active. However, users wouldn’t be able to create any orders against the Catalog if not active.
2. Create Price Group(s)
Click to expand
Click Menu then Catalogs
Click View next to the Catalog you want to manage.
Click the Price Groups button in the action bar.
3. Create Categories (Optional)
Click to expand
Click Menu then Catalogs.
Click View on the Catalog you want to manage.
Click the Categories button on the action bar.
You can have up to 4 levels of categories, including the top (root) level.
4. Order Row Config (Optional)

Setup Order columns to be organized in the way you prefer for your orders. This is what users will see when ordering on the Order Entry screen.
Click Menu then Catalogs.
Click View on the Catalog Row you want to manage.
Click the Order Row Config button in the action bar.
Drag and Drop the column options in the order you prefer.
5. Inventory Row Config (Optional)

Setup Inventory columns to be organized in the way you prefer for your orders. This is what users will see when ordering on the Inventory screen.
Click Menu then Catalogs.
Click View on the Catalog Row you want to manage.
Click the Inventory Row Config button in the action bar.
Drag and Drop the column options in the order you prefer.
Catalog Items
Once the above requirements are completed, your Catalog is ready for Catalog Items. There are a number of ways you can get your Catalog Items into Orderwerks. Some Integrations allow pulling in Catalog Items automatically.
Create Catalog Items
From the Catalog Overview screen that you want to Create Catalog Items In:
Click Create
Enter in the details for Catalog Items.
Click Save
Update Catalog Items
From the Catalog Overview screen that you want to Update Catalog Items In:
Click for the Catalog Item row you want to update.
Update the Catalog Item configuration in the sidebar.
Click Save
Bulk Create / Update Catalog Items
There is a two process workflow to bulk updating catalog items. As a pre-requisite, we HIGHLY suggest that you first setup at least one Price Group prior to performing a bulk operation on your Catalog Items.
Download Item Template CSV
Click Menu then Catalogs.
Select the checkbox on the catalog row you want the bulk csv for.
Click the Item Template button in the Download CSV action bar group.
Upload Item Template CSV
Click Menu then Catalogs.
Click Upload Update on the Catalog you want to upload the bulk csv for.
Select Item Template CSV from the dropdown list.
Drag and Drop or Select to find the Item Template CSV file.
Click Upload.
You will receive an email once it's completed with the status.
