Unit of Measurement Sets allow you to define a base unit for a product and create conversions to other measurement options - such as each, box, case, or pallet. Once created, a measurement set can be assigned to catalog items, giving customers the flexibility to select their preferred ordering quantity directly from the product page.
Enabling the Feature
Navigate to Settings
Locate and enable Unit of Measurement Sets
Once enabled, a new UoM Sets menu item appears under the Catalogs menu
Creating and Configuring Sets
Access the UoM Sets screen to create and manage your measurement configurations:
Base Unit: Define the fundamental unit of measure (e.g., "Each")
Related Units: Add additional units with their conversion ratios (e.g., "Box = 12 Each", "Case = 48 Each")
Abbreviations: Set customer-friendly labels for each option
Assigning to Catalog Items
Unit of measurement sets can be assigned to products through two methods:
Individual Assignment: Edit a catalog item and select the measurement set from the sidebar options
Bulk Assignment: Use the Item Template CSV file to assign measurement sets across multiple items simultaneously
Customer Experience
When a unit of measurement set is assigned to a catalog item, customers ordering through the B2B eCommerce portal see a dropdown menu displaying all available unit options. This allows them to select their preferred quantity format before adding the item to their cart.
