Barcode Label Generation

Generate printable barcode label PDFs directly from your catalog. Labels can be printed on standard Avery label sheets and include scannable barcodes, product names, and pricing.

Getting Started

Navigate to Catalogs and open a catalog
Click the Barcode Labels button in the action bar
A sidebar panel will open with all label configuration options

Selecting Products

There are two ways to choose which products receive labels:

By Category

Select a product category from the hierarchical dropdown. All active items within that category will be included with one label each. Subcategories can be navigated by clicking the arrow icon next to a parent category.

By Specific Items

Use the search field to find products by name or SKU. Click the + button to add an item to your label list. Each added item appears in an editable list where you can:

Adjust quantity - Set how many labels to print for each item using the number field
Remove items - Click the X button to remove an item from the list
Apply bulk quantity - Enter a number and click "Apply to All" to set the same label count across every item
Clear all - Remove all items from the list at once

Label Configuration

Template

Choose from four standard Avery label templates:

Barcode Source

Choose which identifier to encode in the barcode:

SKU - Uses the product's SKU value (Code128 format)
UPC - Uses the product's UPC value (UPC-A format when valid, falls back to Code128)

If UPC is selected and a product does not have a UPC value, a warning icon will appear next to that item. The system will automatically fall back to the SKU with Code128 format for those items.

Display Options

Show Product Name - Toggle whether the product name appears on the label (on by default)
Show Price - Toggle whether pricing appears on the label (off by default). When enabled, a Price Group dropdown appears so you can select which price group's pricing to display

Quantity Per Label

Set a quantity number to print on each label. This is useful when you need bulk labels for each item. Defaults to 1.

Summary

Before generating, the sidebar displays a summary:

By Specific Items mode: Shows total label count, labels per sheet for the selected template, and estimated number of pages
By Category mode: Confirms the selected category name and that all items will receive one label each

Generating the PDF

Click Generate Labels at the bottom of the sidebar. The button is disabled until a valid selection is made (either a category or at least one item).While generating, a loading spinner appears on the button. Once complete, the PDF opens automatically in a new browser tab where you can preview and print it.If an error occurs during generation, an error message will appear in the sidebar.

Remembered Settings

Your last-used template, barcode source, and price group selections are automatically saved and restored the next time you open the barcode labels panel.

Tips

Use the By Category mode when you need labels for an entire product line
Use the By Specific Items mode when you need different quantities per product or only need labels for select items
Set a product's quantity to 0 in specific items mode to skip it without removing it from the list
The Avery 5160 template (30 labels/sheet) is the most common choice for standard retail product labels
The Avery 5167 template (80 labels/sheet) works well for small items like jewelry or electronics components
